Happy Sundays : Time for planting Vegetables

Happiness is Sunday! ♡

What are you up to today? Anyone baking? I have just been helping the kids plant some new seedlings in the vegetable garden. For many vegetables timing is important in our tropical climate,  so we cheated and bought seedlings from the shop this year as it's already June and a bit late to start from seeds.

My little darlings enthusiastically planted the Lettuce and Silverbeet seedlings we bought from the shop. They also planted Snow Pea seeds and Dwarf Yellow beans - all which grow well at this time of year.It was so nice to see their excited faces!

Previously we had already planted tiny cherry tomatoes and garlic cloves. It's important that you plan ahead with garlic up here and place it in the fridge for a couple of months before planting in late March/April when the heat settles.

When I was a child, some of my fondest memories were helping my dad in the garden. As an adult we would exchange clippings and share garden advice. Now I am passing that love on to my children.

Here's a few snapshots of what else is growing in our backyard today! Enjoy!
